Why do I take so long to edit??

So I did a photo shoot in my basement the other day with my sister as my model (since she and my other sister are my ONLY models xP) and I was aiming for a glam/modelling/posh type of image. It took about 6 hours to edit this photo, MOST of my time was due to myself staring at the picture figuring out what else to do with it. I dunno about you, but sometimes when I edit, I would already run out of ideas but I would still not be satisfied with what I've come up with!! I guess I don't really take a long time editing, instead I take a long time brainstorming! Anyways, this is the end result!

I chose this photo out of the 70+ pictures I took that day. I figured if I posted a whole album of the same thing, it would be boring to flicker through. So I decided to just post one image and made sure it came out beautifully. I posted it on facebook and got 33 likes within the first 3 hours of publishing it which, I guess safe to say, is an indication that it's a good one :D

Anyways, its 2:20am here in chilly Edmonton and I ought to sleep now cuz my darling man promised to take me out for breakfast! Dang I'm a lucky girl :) SO goodnight world! Hope we dream about something cool tonight xD

Stars from Below

So I've been wanting to capture downtown Edmonton from this one spot where my lovely boyfriend took me and I told myself that someday I will come there during the night and take pictures of the scene with a super long shutter speed lol. So a week ago I went and did so! I believe it was -12 degrees outside but no snow (thankfully!) and me having a really low threshold for cold, I wore two winter jackets, a scarf, gloves and them boots with the fur! I looked ridiculous like I was to climb Mount Everest! But at least I was able to last for the night til I got enough shots to make me happy. Definitely didn't wanna miss a photo opportunity by running away from the cold like a wimp. So a little tip: If you know you're gonna shoot for a long time, depending where you are BE PREPARED! If you get hungry easily like me, bring a snack... oh and pee ahead of time!

Anyways, here are the shots I took :) Post processed using Adobe CS5.

For this image, I took it on a highway curve and was parked on the emergency parking line. A truck with roof lights came and I thought it was the police so that scared that poop outta me but it was just roadside assistance. He asked if everything was okay and I explained that I was just going to take a few photos and I was done! He just kindly said that it probably wasn't a good idea to park there, and then he went back to his truck. I wanted to take a few more pictures but it seemed like he wasn't going anywhere until I left so I had to prematurely call it a night! xD

Post processing took roughly 3-4 hours each, solely because I'm not very good at Photoshop and most of the time I'm deciding what else I could do to make the photo prettier haha.

Have a nice day people!
